Hello, Buon Giorno, Bonjour, & Guten Tag!
The Romig Studio is currently auditioning students to start in SUMMER 2018! If you are interested in openings, please use the contact link at the top of the page.
I am an energetic voice and piano teacher in the Longmont area. As a student at CU Boulder earning my Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, I taught three voice classes and have been teaching private piano and voice lessons for 5 years. I received classical and pop (chord charts) piano instruction from age 8-20, and continue to pursue my love in both voice and piano. I teach all levels of vocal training, and teach from beginner to intermediate in piano. My studio is located in Longmont, in the Fox Creek Farms neighborhood near 17th and Pace.
My specialized interests are the student's specific learning styles and personal goals. My master's thesis was on this very topic, and I implement the studies and results of this into my teaching for effective playing and singing. I offer the first lesson free so I can get to know the student and their interests, goals, and reasons for taking lessons. It is in this initial meeting that repertoire and style is discussed: I offer training in the classical style, branching out to broadway, pop, jazz, and other styles. l accept ages 6 and older for piano lessons and ages 9 and older for voice lessons. Vocal students younger than middle school will receive training in a wide variety of musical explorations including note and rhythm reading, ear training, improvisation, and music theory.
In voice lessons, I offer a unique advantage in that I can record your warm-ups and piano accompaniments and post a mp3 of the song(s) on Google Drive for you after the lesson. Many of my students, especially those who do not own a keyboard or play the piano, have benefited from this technology, time, and effort I put in to help them succeed. I also do spoken recordings of foreign language songs to assist with the process of learning an Italian, French, German, or other foreign language piece.
For the summer, lessons will be paid per-lesson at the following rates:
$25 / half hour
$37.50 / forty-five minutes
$50 / hour
For the school year (paid in 10 equal payments August through May), my tuition rates per month are:
$80 / half hour
$128 / forty-five minutes
$160 / hour
We hold two recitals every year, one in December and one in May/June. These recitals are a wonderful way to "practice performing in front of people," and are a tangible goal to work towards twice a year.
